How do you find the history on a house.
I have just picked up a rather old place and wanted to find a bit more of the history behind it.

Start by ordering a the high res scan of the original titles through the LTO.
This will show all the owners and their occupations. They also look great framed in the hallway

If the Title has not been through the LTO in the last 20 years then it may not have been converted and destroyed .You may be able to get the original title back from the LTO after settlement once it is cancelled.

We did some digging and found out lots of stuff on our house. After the WWII it was a boarding house for up to 20 men. The back cubby house was actually where the owner lived, in the 80s it belonged to the cocaine king of Adelaide.
