I believe the human body is designed to take impacts relative to our self propelled maximum speed.

Most can run 20-30kph and that's about the limit of an unprotected body.

Hit a large tree at 60kph in a car and you're probably dead....trees don't move.

Think of the force of one punch from some drop kick at a pub, you may survive but be a simple for ever after

The medical centre in Thredbo has a unique system. When you get wheeled in on a banana basket if you are still conscious or alive there is a sign on the ceiling.

"this facility is not bulk billed, no money no healthcare"

With the amount of injuries over the winter months Doc has been caught many times of people not paying. If the injury is life threatening then you get help. If they have to call in chopper from Canberra expect a nice 3k bill.

And if you get me started on summer time……the injuries are worse, not as many but severe. Knuckleheads that want to do the Crackenback to Village on a mountain bike, snow at least gives some bounce, in summer the rocks are all exposed and trees await thy mental case, they professional riders wear all the BMX type gear and motor cycle helmets, the drug induced pot heads end up with heads like the elephant man

"Unless I am very much mistaken" a Doctor can't do that. They could be sued if further injury resulted and reported to the medical board.
