Was it the end of the race or purely just a yellow flag?

Stewart has a temper and what he has done is beyond stupid.

Kevin hit the wall it was not really Stewart's fault he just got close and stole the line.
Roll on summer

From what Ive heard from the US the revving may not actually be Tonys car but a car closer to the guy taking the video.

Not the same through the eyes of the driver. I must admit I have raced at sun set and could not see much down the straight. You could still see the green lights though.
Yellows stop racing.

Exactly..yellow stops racing.....but you'd be right up the backside of the car in front, right..and no rule about "being able to stop"? Visibility close to zero and not expecting pedestrians.

Less stupid than Ward IMO....poor kid. Trouble is at 20yo, he's seen that behaviour on TV by others, and just followed their lead.

What else matters?

Anyway, that's my opinion.

for sure major contributory negligence on his own part........but TS may well have to answer a civil suit

Exactly it is deemed acceptable to walk out. But someone like Stewart should know to ignore a kid like that.

He tried to scare the kid and now has paid the ultimate price!

I'm not sure that's actually been determined yet, but if he did, that was a dumb mistake.

It's a very sad event.  One of the first things you learn when getting a race car license is that when you are involved in an accident "YOU STAY IN THE CAR UNTIL A MARSHALL TELLS YOU ITS SAFE TO GET OUT".

Some may recall Tony Delifice at Bathurst after his crash, you could hear him ask the Marshall.  "Is it OK for me to get out of the car now".  Textbook behaviour.

I follow NASCAR a lot and not pointing fingers, Tony Stewart is a bit of a hot head at times, there's been a few punch ups during and after events.   He however is very experienced and I don't believe for a minute it was deliberate.  Like Tiger, I grew up around speedway and Sprintcars are massively powerful and can step out real quick, they are designed to flick sideways when you put your foot down hence all the stagger.
