Will you drive the Lotus on the road?
Of course not. I'll  buy a car to use there. Bentley if the family comes along (ideally), Lambo if I'll be by myself.
You make something idiotproof, they'll make a better idiot.

Mhh..... what about Tuscany?

I love that place, spent a couple of weeks there on my honeymoon last year. I could see myself retiring there (in my dreams).

The weather was fine this year in Late September.

Mhh..... what about Tuscany? Or is it to difficult for the boys to use there rentals there??

Love to add Tuscany to the trip but yeah there are issues with our rentals there apparently.

What does anybody recommend for car hire?  I am looking at 5 weeks, something a bit tasty would be nice.

Sorry, missed this one. Yes, I'm guessing northern Italy (like last  year) will be OK although outside the Avis rules, but too far south will bother them. That's how I felt when I was a renter.

Rented a vehicle from Europcar in France back in 2003 which had the clutch go whilst in Spain. The Spanish Europcar office said it was not their problem as it was a French vehicle. After I made a very pissed off call to France they had the Spanish people give us an exchange vehicle.

I should add the vehicle was a Mercedes Van as we were carrying around six motorbikes in it.
