I'm planning to get some business cards for myself and am designing a draft for it.

Does anyone have any advice for improvement, use photo as background or not? Use the back of the card as well, or just black or yellow?

As well as a recommended place to get them printed :)

was talking to someone at work today about business card designs,
personally i like the details to be basic with a design on the other side, the chick at work likes the artwork to encompass both sides of the card to make it stand out more.

that probably doesn't help at all, but it comes down to personal taste

I think the image looks hot cel!!!

I like my cards to have a plain back as I find it handy to write on sometimes.

fade it out a bit more perhaps, too bold... would be nice to be able to write on them sometimes etc.

In most design, less is more. I've been thinking of redoing mine too, might run some designs in here too.
If I were you, I'd either fade out the pic or lose it. Or move it to the back and keep the front less cluttered.

I just got a new batch done recently...

front is full colour satin/matte finish, can be written on if you really want to.

back is matte, easy to write on, with clear space to do so. Photo is 360N-GT #12 at Winton in the wet.

You don't need your ABN on your business card.

I like to keep things clean in accountant land... I get suppliers ABNs usually and note customers ABN when invoicing to a business.....

Makes it easy to find/recall when you need it (which isn't often, I know)

is there any disadvantage to having it on there?

If the suppliers Invoice does not say TAX INVOICE and have their ABN number shown then you can not claim the GST. Your client does not have to supply their ABN number but I do have in my accounting software most of my clients ABN numbers.

Only reason not to have your ABN number on your business card is to reduce clutter.
