I met Peter Watkins today from Split Image.  He came to get some pics of my GT3 for Christophorous magazine.  I actually met him years ago through a friend who used to work at Bridgestone, a client of Peter's.  He's a well known photographer who just does automotive and has made a good living from it. He said most of the work comes out of Melbourne and Sydney.  He shoots for car companies and does some magazine stuff. He goes all round the world on assignment and he's busy. He moved to Melbourne to get closer to his clients. I don't know how good he is technically, but he's a very nice bloke - which might partly account for his popularity. Anyway, he seems like a good person to model yourself on if you are serious about a career in automotive photography.

Nothing mind-blowing in terms of content IMO, I guess its who you know! I've been in discussions about moving East to do it full time, but I love life in Perth (as funny as that may sound to some :P )

Keen to see the GT3 shots when you get them.

If you go to Vic move closer to Phillip Island. You wouldnt want to live in the concrete jungle that is Melbourne.

I've learned in my business that doing something for a long time helps too.  Peter's been doing it for nearly 30 years.  You meet a lot of people in that time.

I like this one - I'm always a sucker for a Porsche in the NT. :p

BUMP.

Have the GT3 shots in Christophorous magazine been released/published yet? I would be interested to see the end result.

I've picked up some work with Rolls-Royce and a couple of new magazines recently (both shoots coming this week, one in Perth and the other in Sydney) and remembered this thread - another magazine that would be nice to target!
