Wow, my lens just arrived, GREAT order handling by B&H!

Ordered last Sunday (which was a public holiday there so shop was closed) and already arrived today! That is great from New York to Sydney!

Just took some pics of my two favourite subjects, will load them up in a sec

Love the 2nd subject.

How did you manage to find such an authentic figurine where the groom has his balls ready to hand over?

Hahaha told the wife and she wasn't laughing :D

The second subject was supposed to be another cat but she couldn't be stuffed posing and pics weren't too good

I've decided I need to upgrade from my EF-S 18-55mm IS kit lens.  It's rubbish.  But the upgrade is a big jump in price.  The new lens will be my walk around lens and I'll use it for car, landscape and travel photography.  I understand that at the wide end of each of these lenses I'll get distortion so I'd need to correct it digitally when shooting buildings etc.  I will likely upgrade to a full frame camera in a few years, so this may be a reason not to buy the 17-55mm EF-S.

I'm considering the following options.  Can anyone recommend any of these?  Any other options?

Canon EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM
Cost: A$1,305.14 (landed in Australia)

Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L USM Lens
Cost: A$872.00 (landed in Australia)

Canon EF-S 17-85mm f/4-5.6 IS USM
Cost: A$574.80 (landed in Australia)

I should mention that I also have a EF f1.8 50mm prime and EF f4 70-200 L lens, so I'd like a zoom lens which fills the gap below this zoom range.
