Here ya go, the gf isn't around tonight so thought I'd kill time doing web stuff - slapped this together for ya:

Not 100% functional etc - but it's a taste of what you can do if you know what you're doing.

That is great, love the "i live my life a quarter pounder at a time", some of the titles are inappropriate but i get the idea, thanks

Why do you want separate sites? It quickly gets too hard to maintain more than one thing unless it's a viable prospect.

Have to agree there.  I think you're better off having a single gallery, and then if you're going to spend any additional time outside of that, use it to push a subset of your stuff out through social media etc.

But there's so many options out there these days.  I have the background to be able to set up exactly what I want since I do both photography and website development for (part of) a living, but feel free to use my site as a reference for what can be done with Joomla (http://www.flamestone.com).

Other noteworthy free open source options are:

Coppermine Gallery:  http://coppermine-gallery.net

Gallery 3.0:  http://gallery.menalto.com/
