I have this camera on loan from Nikon at the moment, taking it with me O/S. Its a Nikon Coolpix A.



pretty happy with it, something most of you frequent travellers might like. Like the sony rx100 lots of you have, this has a large sensor, but this time its an APS-C sensor out of an slr. Only downsides are it doesn't zoom, but I'm not very fussed with that.
I usually only use wide angle lenses for travel.

yep, has a few issues with cramming a large sensor behind a small lens. it works a lot better at higher apertures.

the rx100 killer feature is the low light frame stacking
I use it more often than not
This may be because of the types of photos I tend to take when on holidays, but I really dont think I could do without it

Not sure if the nikon does something similar, I have never really seen it in another camera, and not in a phone either, where it would seem to be really useful

frame stacking takes 5+ photos at 1/40 or more in very quick succession, individually all highly underexposed, lines them up on top of each other to give you a single correctly exposed photo, the processing in camera takes about a second

I think I saw that my Lumix does that with 12fps burst shooting. If I ever used it outside of auto mode, I could probably find out.
