My new camera makes big files.  How do I get them to AE size using iPhoto?  Any Mac heads here?

the only way I've found successful is to export via email using iphoto and it gives u the choice to reduce the size.

You can resize in iPhoto. You must use the File/Export.
This preserves the original picture as taken.

Is there a photo resizing app? When I post a photo from my phone I can choose from either the gallery or the resizing app, where I can choose the photo and the size I want to send/post it in. (Android, of course, but I'd be surprised if apple doesn't have the same thing)

Iphone pics go straight up on AE. I'm not sure this camera was such a good idea.  Photos are for sharing.  If you have to muck around, I'd rather just use the iPhone which is handier anyway.  I'm afraid the suggestions made don't help me much - I've got no idea how to do it.

Hang on, I did one. First pic is Photobucket, second one is resized pic uploaded to AE. It looks worse than my iPhone pics.

Change the settings on the camera to a lower quality.

Isn't it better to keep the raw image at the highest quality for other uses?

No, but later I might want to print or use in some other way - unlikely, admittedly.  I don't ever expect to Photoshop one of my pics.  They aren't important enough.  I'll use the Sony for holiday snaps and revert to the iPhone for car pics, I think.
