They can carry a DSLR. Not cheap though. This is a Nikon D600, not sure what the lifting platform is though.

Dave, if you want to try it out with the goggles Ive got a friend that would probably let you try his. Mark is a toy junky as well, he has a Cesna plane body he's fitting out as a flight simulator at the moment. He only got into flying choppers this year but has flown planes for a while so he might be able to help you learn to fly the drone. I flew a small drone in my warehouse last year, theyre not that hard to get used to. In this video he's playing chasey and the video has been recorded from the goggles.

He's also in real estate so it could be an in for some aerial photography and video work for the real estate game.

I've heard 2nd hand about some people here in Australia being fined for using these without appropriate licensing.

I know there are laws on unmanned aircraft, but I think it's being taken a bit far. Who knows.

I've thought about taking something like this out to Mallala to try and shoot motorkhanas and the like.

Animal rights groups have been using them to conduct surveillance on farmers who produce "free range" meat. Farming bodies have been up in arms about it but the groups are yet to be fined or prosecuted as far as I'm aware.
