Great stuff Andrew. Interesting perspectives and framing. Out of interest, how does it look if sped up?

Nice stuff Andrew, I love the first two settings with all the boat action in front of the skyline, superb!

Sometimes it seems to misalign a bit, do you know how that that happened?

Cheers Cel,

That 'misalignment' was my biggest disappointment from the evening . I was shooting longish frames so I could keep noise down, around 0.4-0.6 seconds with the shutter open. Turns out that wooden board walks move with heavy foot traffic (bridge shot & low angle opera house shot). And that the bridge moves a lot with vehicular traffic! (high angle opera house shot). Basically the camera was bouncing up and down throughout the exposures. Lesson leaned, a sturdy tripod is worth nothing without sturdy ground to stand it upon!

I haven't really experimented with this. I will do so and report on my results. Presently it is just 1 exposure per 1 frame of video at 24fps.

Cheers for the kind words,

I tried the new time lapse option on iOS 8 on my iphone 5s on my way home this afternoon:

Didn't really notice but this was the only one I tried, no doubt it'll kill the battery life pretty fast.

Nice option to have on the phone though :)

Still want a proper setup for my camera though

Don't know much about it, but I always like a good time-lapse photo as long as it shows something interesting about the subject. I liked yours, but my neck got sore watching it.

Here's one from Sunday night. GoPro with Picassa.

I think I need a mirrorless camera and a longer lens - watching weeds and trees twitching in the breeze is pretty boring. There are fireworks in the city at 0:30 but with exposures every 30 seconds and trying to get the sunset, they're fairly anticlimactic.
