Yes, it looks like an slk or whatever they call the base model convertible that comes as a 4 cylinder.

Harsh! I reckon it's the best merc I've seen.

I agree it looks HOT, but next to a porsche, it still has a stigma of being an old mans car

Does merc have that stigma in Europe or is it only here?
For example Top Gear UK would once have you believe everyone who drives a BMW was a f*ckwit...then when that didn't suit them anymore they shifted to bagging Audi. In Australia I always thought it was pretty much Volvo drivers suck and everyone else...meh who cares. Not that I care about what others think, I drive a little French car!

makes it sound like  a pointless model considering the range of 911's available

It's a parts bin special. I don't like the black wheels and headlight so I'd rather a C2S with the right options.  It's the worst looking 911 in the range.

The whole 911 range needs consolidation I reckon.

Carrera with GTS spec engine and choice of 2 or 4wd (drop the base Carrera)
911 Turbo with only the S spec engine and 4wd (drop the base turbo)
GT3 and GT3 RS (can't cull these two!!!!)
And because the range needs a psychopath…GT2 RS as the range topper.

Decide whether to offer Targa or Convertible, but not both.
Drop the rest.

Then expand the Boxster/Cayman range (as they are planning to do anyway)
Cayman and Cayman S
Cayman GTS and GT4
Same in the Boxster.

For bread and butter they have Macan, Cayenne and when the looks improve, Panamera.

but surely now that the GT3 has a girly 2 pedal arrangement it is a little more useable everyday for most people? I agree with him, seems like they're trying to fill a gap between models that doesn't really exist.

For the guy who needs (for the family business case) a 4 seater I reckon the GTS is a must have. It also offers buyers the option to have a more 'subbtle' car ex the wings and stuff.

911 GTS PDK Carmine Red
$304k drive away

GT3 GT Silver Met
$323k drive away

But my case falls apart when you note the $19k price diff, yeh can it!

Was just thinking it looked a tad ugly. The red doesn't assist it either. I remember a long time ago when a guards red 911 was my dream car, dont like them in red at all any more.
