I doubt that the dealer would no anything official, normally they dodn't have much of a clue outside of what is floating around in the motoring press.

I'm not saying that there won't be an RS, but I am saying that they won't have any more idea than you or I.

GT4 RS is a total waste of time and an embarrassment to the RS badge.

Makes the RS concept worth less.

I feel the RS concept is just a PR furfy anyway.

When the gt3 came out in 1998 that was effectively the modern day version of  RS IMO. They just branded  RS on top of what was already the lightweight track car again to get more sales and diluted the true RS badge IMO.

So a GT4 RS is no more a insult to the concept than the GT3 rs is IMO

Disagree, the RS should always weigh less than the model it is based on. The GT3 weighed more than the Carrera 2, therefore should not be considered an RS.

But the rs was always the sporting version of the 911 be it touring or not.  Isn't that what the gt3 is? Stripped and focused.

Otherwise why not just have a 911rs? Which it always was.

But now it's a 911 gt# rs.

The 996 GT3 would have been 996 Carrera RS. However, it weighed more than the Carrera therefore wasn't eligible for the RS moniker.

The GT3 should have always weighed less than a C2.

Can't call it an RS if it weighs more.

RS was always the stripped out homologation model.

But isn't that technically what the GT3 is to homologate it for the racing class?

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Group_GT3

GT3 was just RS by a different name.

Then the marketing people decided to kick it up a notch and make some extra coin by revitalising the RS moniker

Yes it was, but not lightweight, so not deserving of RS name.
