I reckon I could build one no worries.

But in the end it won't be a "Singer" so will it command the money????

brand it a "gimp" and see what happens

Lovely looking thing. Big back story - it made my hands go clammy with fear of future mechanical weirdness. I'm looking for the untouched 70's 911 with the one elderly owner. :p

I know plenty of people with the skills and machinery to pull off a singer. Like mondi said they are all busy with out projects.
Australia has some super talented craftsman. Most are interest in rods. I'm sure for the right dollars you could build something as good if not better.

I would love to set up a business doing this. Singer just have the marketing now which gives them the edge.

Here is what goes into making a singer…

This anonymous clan of slack-jawed troglodytes has cost me the election, and yet if I were to have them killed, I would be the one to go to jail. That's democracy for you. - C Montgomery Burns.

Setting up and bankrolling it is the hardest bit the rest is doable once you tick that box.

Yes, I get that singer charges a bomb...

But, theoretically, what would an MHH or a 360C pay for one of these here in Oz?

I suspect the answer is half of the number above.

Singer has built a world renowned reputation based on the over the top attention to detail and the jewel like quality of the final product. There is no comparison in the resto-mod world, and in the mainstream IMO only Pagani comes close to the same obsessive attention to detail and quality of materials and finish. To my knowledge Singer resale hasn't been tested; but I  would wager that they would suffer less depreciation than a main stream production exotic.

No disrespect to local builders; but no matter how good the product was, the world would view them as just another resto-mod as the just don't have the weight of world wide recognition that Singer has built up over the years. Retained value would be awful as a result.
