i recognise your experience with the car might be different to mine. At the price point it's a sensational car and in 25000kms as a daily driver I've had no issue with the shift quality, nor have any of the worlds major automotive journos I might add. In fact they all like the gearbox as I do. But compared to higher end cars I'm aware it wouldn't feel anywhere near as good. The ST cost me $25k drive away!

I'll send you a pm and keep this thread on topic

Thanks for the PM Looney. Back on topic!

Ordered manual and not regretting the decision for one second.

I have a DSG for daily use in my RS3 and serves its purpose for the daily commute.

Whilst the DSG is worlds apart from a PDK in shift speeds, for me it simply is a personal choice of engagement and the love of that third pedal.

Is the advancement of PDK better... Without question yes. But I still could't care.

I want the full tactile experience, engagement and involvement when I drive. I don't give a fuck about how stupendously good pdk is, how much faster and more seamlessly it can change gears than I can... I don't give a shit. It cannot, by definition EVER be as involving as a proper manual. How can it? No clutch pedal to operate.  No gate to negotiate. You can't heel/toe. You can't fluff a change because you weren't concentrating.
I'm with you Roman.  I'll admit straight up I can't afford one of these modern cars, but, I just don't get the paddle shift.  To me its lazy, but thats just me.

And I think IMO thats why the likes of Porsche are going back to manual, because who cares what the 0-100 speed is, it's how you get there.  The car companies have to get back to the driving experience.  Anyone can drive a car with driver aids.

Don't want to go off topic too much so will send a pm of me and my mate in his Startos in France.  Heal toe, heaps of fun mate, warts and all. ;)

My race car has paddles, and is so rewarding every time I drive it.

My road RS at full noise is the same.

A GT2RS with paddles will be amazeballs.

You're just lazy. :p

I'm old school.  Love the 3 pedals like Roman.

And if I can ever afford one of these it is the ultimate.
