OP has already said he isn't sure how serious he is - in other words, he isn't serious. Fair enough but I bet he doesn't buy any of them.

What model GT2 did Jan have Scottski?  That thing was a weapon!

Pretty sure it was a 996 GT2. Was very fast  and not that scary in the hands of someone who knows what they are doing.

Thanks, I'm not up to speed with the different models of Porsches.

Always scary mate when you're in the passenger seat and not driving, having said that yes JJ is a very good steerer. :D

Ive had both 996 and 997 GT2. Would have either again in a flash.
Havent had a 997 GT3, but have had a 996 GT3. Underpowered against a GT2, but a good track car until you want more power.
I lost my enthusiasm for naturally aspirated 911's when I discovered the joys to be had when you strap two turbos on to a flat six engine. Happy days!

Which would you pick and why.  Very different cars I know, but interested in people's opinions and reasoning.
What a difference a year makes... Have a look at the prices on the first page

997.1 GT2 - $240K
997.2 GT3 - $209K
991 Carrera S - $209K

Wonder if Barra ended up buying any of them?

He never mentioned the subject again. Like many of us, Barra was hot on something for a day and then lost interest or forgot all about it. I do this often. Yesterday, I decided I needed a Huracan Spyder. Today I don't.

I'm still hot and cold on the SV-R, depending on the time of the day it is
