You could be right mate.

360's question is relevant. What is the car being used for? As a daily with the ability to easily handle the a run through the hills on the weekends, I'd choose the 991s every time (and I did exactly that).

If you want a more serious no compromise toy, then it's between the gt2 and gt3.

As a DD come weekend warrior , the choice is obvious

But if wanting a track/weekend weapon with the occasional daily driving -  GT2/GT3 - but, how do you decide between the 2?

To even ask that question probably means you're not a car fanatic or you'd know the answer already.

Take the later model less K's 911S and hang on for all your worth. :D

GT3.
The general public is a terrible barometer of taste. Trust your own sensibilities.

Thanks for the opinions.

I should mention The closest thing I've driven to any of these is a 997.1 S.

i would use the car for <300km rural drives, occasional track days, chasing road bikes around Canberras dams and Robinson pass etc.

The 991 is so pretty and I'm sure it's fast and pleasant.

The gt2 I don't know a whole lot about.  I had no idea it would be around that price.

The gt3 is interesting... I love a focused car, but what if the 991 is as fast and capable but 'nicer'?

I'm not sure how serious I am (I've been gunna buy a porsche for a year now) but I'm very tempted.

The boring questions:

Does anyone have an opinion on what a good price would be for each and how I should expect them to depreciate over the next couple of years?

Like all modern cars they will drop in value ....but your did a long time.

One should never buy a fun car and worry about the resale value...the fun far out weighs the dollar loss.

Cs will take the biggest hit.

Look at the equivalent cars that are 3 years older and that is what you should experience.
