also in terms of mods, all the GT3 needs, is 4:11's Exhaust, re-map, tyres and alignment,  i dont think you'll (not that i know how good a driver you are) , and still have $40k+ in your pocket

also knowing how hard GT3's are to sell, might as well already save some of that loss you will make up front with the cheaper car :D

I thought the GT3 was the easiest Porsche to sell. Not so?

Isn't this thread like choosing which sauce to have with your steak?

Can't decide.... peppercorn or blue cheese??

Either is good, and nobody else will know what you did anyway!

any consideration given to a purchase of one of these two porkers, over a f430 for 190k, is pure lunacy

997.2 for over 200k?

what a rip off!

Been hunting around for a 997 GT3. An 07 model would go for around $140k (08 for $150k?), and a '10 997.2 would probably go for $200-210k range. I've spoken to 2 people who tell me that the 997.2 is not worth the extra $50-60k, despite it being a younger car. But research on the Porsche forums show the opinions split.. I've made offers for both models last week, which have been knocked back  but am starting to think I shouldn't bother with the 997.2, cuz even if it's a younger car that's a bit better looking, the 997.1 apparently will handle just as well with less depreciation hit and lower upfront costs...

Still favoring the 997.2 though...it is newer after all.. plus the rear wing spoiler looks heaps better :D

Any thoughts?

When my 996t sells my intention at this stage is to buy an 997.1 GT3.  I wouldn't mind knowing what cars you've been to see and offered on.  Please send me a PM if you wouldn't mind.

nope GT3's are seemingly difficult to shift, even the Porsche dealer has said that to me.
