Word on the street, in the mechanics sheds, at the Factory Warranty Dept, on the forums and anywhere you care to look is....... run don't walk from a 3.4 996.......

Some say any 996 but i undersand the very late 3.6's are an ok gamble....

993's rule as do 997's. '84 Carreras with the 231hp engine also highly covetable ( later '86 on 3.2s had 217 hp as they had catalytic convertors choking hp).

Therein lies tonights 911 'lesson'.

A good conundrum though. I dig the white with red 993 but it is a tip.....6 sp far more worthy.

Red interior does not show the blood.

How expensive would a gearbox change be?

all 3 dodgy links are chictronic cars...

nuff said.

By early Porsche I was thinking more along the lines of a pre 80's model, even a RS replica.
