If I was ever going to buy a RENSC this one would be it I reckon.

  agreed.

In Euro the demographic that tend to drive porkas (well from what I have seen, and the non turbo or race verions) tend to be older-middle aged women.

But this 4.0 is a seriously tough looking car in the flesh, and the sound of it doesn't sound poofy and boxy like most of them do, this engine roars a little closer to how they should

lol.

Nah I mean the 996-997 models. Older ones tend to then go to guys who love their cars and apreciate the engineering and name and not buy it as a fassion accesory. Italy, Austria, Germany all the same when it comes to Porsche. USA, OZ and UK tend to have men buying the non turbo versions.
Also over here I have noticed most 911's are awd's as opposed to OZ where most are RWD

Apart from the TV guys, you wouldn't survive too long on a motoring journalist's salary.

Agreed. My mates at CarAdvice are starting to make some seriously big bucks - just announced a partnership with Telstra as well. But if you don't own the publication you write for then yeh... not much money in motoring journalism.

Heck most other journos I know just do it on the side and have another full time gig. But then again most people pay for the privilege of doing what these guys do on a weekly basis.

yes i know you're not a fan, but you are most correct, this is likely to be the last truly collectible 911, and it will still depreciate for a little while anyway.

"Not a fan" is possibly a bit harsh. I think the limited edition "racers" are special cars and I was very impressed by the
997 GT3 RS that was on the Tassie run earlier this year.

The very limited 4.0 litre version will be a classic and also very good buying at 50% of new in about 3 years. I could see myself buying one if a sexy Italian exotic doesn't beckon at the same time.
