Oh one more thing i would like to add, if anyone knows an estimate price to replace a cracked dashboard on the 944s and where to get them done? I havent seen how bad the crack is yet, but according to the dealer, its pretty minor. Thanks again!

Yeah. thanks i've looked that up before, and there were no 944's  :(

No 944's? Maybe not for sale, but the club has a ton of 944 owners (myself included), and if you check out the supersprint timesheets, 944's are pestering 911's at the top in most classes.

The NA models (like mine) handle great, but are pretty slow in a straight line and can't be made to go faster without an engine swap or turbo conversion. The factory turbos, however, are extremely quick (even by todays' standards).

Yes it will be more expensive to maintain than a Honda, but nothing approaching the costs of 911s, boxsters etc. They are for the most part easy to work on, and importing parts from the US is cheap.

Get a pre-purchase inspection done by a specialist (I can recommend one if you need) and keep on top of your standard preventative maintenance and you shouldn't have any problems.

There's one on Gumtree atm... high km's but looks ridiculously clean: http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/amaroo/cars-vans-utes/1986-porsche-944-coupe/1024175382
