I've been watching Alejandro on his YouTube channel talk about his car. He has had it for 3 eps now and drove it to Vegas from the dealer. He rates it very highly and believes they should be driven not garage queens.

I'll be interested to see what he says in 6months time about it.

I think everyone is getting a bit too excited about the R...it's as if none of Porsche's previous manual cars exist anymore... If you really wanted a manual Porsche, you can have a Mezger engine and hydraulic steering too in a 997.

Take a look at prices in the UK, they are asking close to 500,000 whereas 991 RS's are asking less than half of that.

Then there's one dealer wanting 650k for a 911 R

If I had one I'd list it for a huge price just in case some turkey came along and was willing to pay it. If not, keep driving!

I guess you can ask whatever you want but that's got to be close to CGT money...

I know which one I'd rather have.

911R seems great to me - at retail price. Unless you own everything already, but in that case you should have been able to get one at retail.

I guess we are lucky enough we don't have such a thing call VIP program.

Two people I know who purchase the car at retail price.

Thanks JME, I'll keep an eye out. Have you seen any pictures?

Apparently only 3 of the 25 AUS-bound cars are PTS. I remember seeing a report that Porsche offered Basalt Black, Lava Orange and Racing Yellow as three additional colour options, but then to offer the more tailor-made PTS package as well.

I'm not sure whether the 3 PTS cars include those three colours or not, have to wait and see.
