80% likely to go with the PDK?  I haven't driven one - obviously - but I think I'd rather change gears myself in a 911. 

And it is a horrifying thought that 50% of 911 buyers in recent history chose a Tiptronic.   

And they still opted to go for buttons on the steering wheel which most reviewers have called confusing rather than take the flappy paddle option. Bizarre.

Have to say that I have always lusted after Ferrari's also, but at the end of the day the Porsche dealer always took my money. Ferrari's are too fragile, too badly built and require way too much maintenance to be a daily driver. I enjoy driving them, but I enjoy even more that I give it back at the end of the day and don't have to pay for the next service.

I've had a string of 911's since 1992 and have not had a single major problem in over 1m km of reasonably hard driving. My mate with a 348 and then a F355 had to have his serviced at enormous cost every few thousand km and has since converted to Porsche also. When we pulled the door cards off his F355 to fix the electric windows it looked like a prototype - all rough cut exposed metal edges and very poorly assembled.

Ferrari = supermodel looks, temprament and running costs on a Fiat production line.
Porsche = Exquisite engineering, reliability and just as quick, if slightly soul-less in comparison.
