Hello All,

Decided to get the porsche started and possibly drive it around soon.

First of all, i'm not sure what some of the gauges mean. I know they have something to do with the oil, but can someone tell me what they are telling me and also where it should at when driving around.

Also, i checked the oil with the dipstick, (wow, its a long one).
Pulled it out, cleaned it with a clean rag, plugged it back in, pulled it back out. It looks to me there isn't one drop in there.
Should there be a definite clear sign of oil?
There were 2 indents, which i am guessing refers to min and max. but i didn't see any oil on any of it, not even the very bottom of the stick.
On my other cars there is a clear and definite sign of oil and its level.

What oil should i use in the engine?
Also, where is the oil filler cap, or where do i fill it from?

I know i sound clueless, but thats cause i am, i've only worked on Jap imports, not euros, my dad did that.

Thanks in advance for all the help.

If the car has been sitting then you should definitely see oil on the dipstick.

I'd suggest talking to your local OPC to see what oil they recommend for your model. They’re only a phone call away.

Oh, and check the books to see what your dials and warning lights mean.

Yeah, i'll go find the user manual.

Its not a turbo /s engine, just the body.

But unless theres was a huge leak, why is there no oil visible  :?
