So now Porsche owns half of VW and is on it's way to world domination.

http://www.drive.com.au/Editorial/ArticleDetail.aspx?ArticleID=60016&vf=12

With the Audi R8, the Gallardo and the Murcielago under control, how long before Ferrari are assimilated.

If Porsche buys out Toyota next, maybe it should be called the Borg.

Seriously, we've seen a good range of supercars from different companies in recent years and if the Porsche takeover results in less variety, it'd be bad for everyone all round.

i dont think it will be that bad... but in the interest of saving money, i can see lots of shared parts and chassis

They do that now. R8/Gallardo, Toureg/Cayenne, A3/GTI... etc.

Porsche has already said there would be no more "toys" such as the Veyron though.
