I'm not saying anyone in their right mind would pay $260k for the last 2005 NSX but the same car in the USA was only $80k.
Sure there’s volume that’s at play here ( 2 sold in AU compared to 250 in the USA) just saying its not only the main exotics that are subject to this disparity.

I remember though in a reverse case where Ford AU sold the locally made Ford Capri to the USA for $14k and were selling the same car here for $21k WTF.

Same with Holden selling in the USA, much cheaper over there.

You only need an acquaintance you met 15 years ago and have spoken to twice since then, but his uncles cousin works for Holden and you get the employee discount.

The fine print is interesting but not bad if you just want to get your bum in a lambo on weekends.

We get raped twice. Once by the local taxes and registration and secondly the local importer mark ups.
Do the numbers on paying full retail on a car in the USA or Europe, add on all the local taxes on importation (using Ash's calculator link)
and it should come in way, way, way cheaper than we have to pay. In the case of a 458 I seem to recall the saving was in the 6 figure range.
