Nice shots Dave, seem's you amputated the Models feet in a few shots though.

Is tha back of the GTR Dirty, or is it damage to the paint?

Between us we have almost every lens you could want or need. We rotate our lenses and loan them to eachother. Really handy.

Sounds familiar Dave! Amongst the guys I shoot with, as you know, there is everything you could ever need to shoot with, Big fast Primes, teleconverters, spare bodies, the holy trinity of glass... Really damn handy! And saves me spending big bucks...

As for the Canon V Nikon scrap... Dave and myself have discussed at length, for me, the Nikon bodies feel weird in hand, and I don't like their Menu systems, plus, for what I do, the long glass is a little better I think. My 100-400 is an underrated lens, and even today it surprises people.

Looks great... I'm not a big fan of the 458, and wondered how their next car would look, but I really like that...

I love shooting with Long primes. The 200 f/1.8's I have access to are fantastic lenses. I use them for both static and track work. For track I prefer to shoot with the 200, 400 or 500 primes. I always have either a 70-200 or my trusty old 100-400 with me though for some extra flexibility.

I prefer the images you get from long glass, 70mm upwards, for static stuff too. The 200 f/1.8 is a fantastic portrait lens, but can be a pain in the ass because its so long. Beg, borrow, steal or hire the lenses you are considering and test them in real world situations that you intend to use them in. And make your own decision as to what will suit you best. Both Dave and Myself are lucky that we have access to a lot of good glass, and we sure make good use of it!

It's definitely been photoshopped, it's been lowered for one. You can see on the right hand side of the car by the front lip there is a line across the road that suggests a selection that has been moved (down). There's also a 3-4mm section around the car that's off colour/texture.

The DOF looks pretty genuine, but there's every chance that it's a high aperture and low aperture photo merged together.

Get the raw off the guy then and lets find out...

What Irks me is the red and white sign over the top of the car... my eyes are drawn to it constantly... Either moving the camera, or the car, would have gotten rid of it... or at least allowed it to be removed in post if it had to be...

Nothing I can see says thats it been Photoshopped... It's been shot @ f/2.8 or less... Theres a genuine softness over the car the further down the body you go...

As an example... This was shot @ f/1.6

Image

The further back the body from the point which was focused on... the softer it gets... its the same effect on the Lambo... Looks real to me!
