I think the 3 digit plates that were passed in went for around $50,000 and $48,000.... i think from memory...

I agree with both of you. '289' was bought really cheap, but same with all the plates that night, maybe except for '327'.
It is a great time to buy plates at the moment, as in a couple of years you should double your investment.
Just out of curiosity what 3-digit plates do you have 360c? (If you want to say)
I still can't believe that all the plates sold so cheaply!

15 plates went under the hammer on Monday the 5th of March at Shannons auction house in Melbourne, where 13 plates were sold!

Unfortunately it was the first time in a while that 2, 3-digit number plates did not manage to sell.

Some bargains hit the auction floor, as many plates were sold at the lower range of their guiding prices.

The results were as followed:
'289' - $55,000
'307' - $Passed in
'326' - $49,000
'327' - $55,000
'351' - $Passed in
'367' - $45,000
'511' - $43,000
'1-101 - $20,500
'4-222' - $16,500
'8-350' - $Passed in
'9-666' - $19,500
'12-888' - $9,000
'33-000' - $10,000
'68-868' - $11,000
'88-911' - $11,000

What was the biggest bargain of the night? '289', '326', '367' or '511'??

What was everyone's views on this auction?

Personally, I think there is a concerned consumer, who is very conservative in these difficult times.

I spotted [6] quite a few years back, twice in two days, in Richmond on Church street parked outside a shop....

Must be the shop owner, or a very interested customer :P
Sorry but i did not take a photo...

Thanks for the advice, but will my friend be able to drive it on the road in Australia, seeming though it is a left hand drive and it is a super-sports car?

My friend is very enthusiastic in buying one, as he loves them... But if he cannot drive it here, he will consider a Pagani Zonda, or a Koenigsegg ccx as he is determined to buy a "super-sports car".

Do you know of any issues relating to the Pagani or the koenigsegg that will need to be taken care of, apart from shipping and import tax?

And will he be able to drive it on the road?

Thanks again for all the help :D

Hi guys,

I have a friend, who wants to import a Bugatti Veyron into Australia, but he does not know how much it will cost him in duties (taxes).

Does anyone know how much the import taxes would be on a $1million Bugatti Veyron?

I think it is roughly around 30%-40% of the cost price, but i am not quite sure....

Also, are you able to drive a Bugatti Veyron on the roads of Australia? Seeming though Maclaren's are allowed to?

If anyone has any idea about this please inform me :D

Thanks for the help
