Bikes / Getting itchy for another bike.
« on: Thu, 28 Mar, 2019 - 23:11 »
Starting to get itchy for another bike, been a couple of years without one now.

A few cruisers have grabbed me of late and are probably not a lot of you guys cup of tea....... but just wondering if anyone has had any experience with these bikes.

First one is a Victory Hammer S - second hand bike but only done 3k. It's a bit of a muscle bike.

Second one - new bike - Indian Scout Bobber. Bit of an Urban assult bike. I like them a lot but trying to find out what they are like to live with.......

Just wanted to share a story with you guys after having a car chat with someone the other day.

A few months back a dealer friend of mine in the USA got wind of a collection for cars coming up for sale. Some of them were in restored condition and very nice examples.

Anyhoo, there was a particularly nice 1969 Mach 1 Mustang that caught my eye, if anyone has been following car values, it's not just the Italian and European stuff which is going a little crazy at the moment. After receiving a host of photos and info about the car I was keen to get my hands on it, the Warranty tag checked out and showed that the car was a matching numbers example.

But there was a nagging feeling from my spidey sensors so I started looking into the car in a little more detail. Something about the VIN number didn't make sense so I got hold of a mob in the US that can track down the build data and dealer information regarding the car and they can also make you a new Warranty plate which looks just like the original as long as you can prove ownership of the vehicle.

So my spidey sensors turned out to be correct - instead of this car being a Red 1969 Mach 1 with deluxe interior and all the bells and whistles, it turned out to be a Black pov pack sports roof worth about half of what the guy was asking.

Someone had a fake Data plate made for the car, but the other thing that I can't understand is that they went to the trouble of collecting all the correct parts for the car to make it look like a proper Mach 1. If it had of been a genuine car it would have been worth around $100k to $120k here, not like 1/2 mil.

I'm guessing there are probably a lot more stories out there.

So the new Tesla space rocket was a complete success!

So now there is Musk's Telsa Roadster floating around in space with a crash test dummy in it dressed in a space suit.

The message on the main screen was a nice touch........"Don't Panic"  :p

Electric Cars / The EV battery tech thread
« on: Thu, 18 Jan, 2018 - 19:02 »
I don’t think we have a battery thread yet so..........

Anyhoo, a little bit of latest news. Samsung have now developed their own 21700 cell. They are also claiming that they can get 600kms out of these cells before a recharge is needed. And they also claim a charge time of 20 minutes.

If this is fact it could be a game changer for the other EV makers..........

One of the best Christmas movies.......

It isn’t Christmas until Hans Gruber is free-falling from Nakatomi Tower.
