Maserati / Insurance for Maserati Quattroporte

Hi All

Been a while since my last post.

Got a cousin that just bought a 07 Maserati Quattroporte and he was after an insurance broker that might be able to get him a better deal than what NRMA have quoted him.

Does any one know of any brokers or a good insurer who wont charge the earth for premiums for this type of car in NSW?

Events / Sydney German Autofest 2014 - Sun 6th April, Earlwood

Hi All

For those of you whom may not be already aware, the Sydney German Autofest 2014 will be held again this year at Gough Whitlam Park in Earlwood for Sunday the 6th April 2014 (see flyer below/attached for details).

This is the third year running of this event and is again being organised by the Mercedes Benz Club of NSW

Entry is free for spectators and $10 if you would like to display your car (paid on the day at entry and this fee goes towards covering the cost of hiring the park for the event).

So far I have been told there will be all the major German marques present again on the day.

Let me know if you are keen and hopefully see you all there on the day!

Ferrari / Ferrari Race Suits/Overalls

I know this questions might of been asked before, but would anyone be able to know where I can source new Ferrari race suits/overalls, even mechanic/pit crew type ones, whether they be the ones used by the official ferrari F1 team or those used by privateer teams in the FIA GT series, Lemans, etc or any other series (either FIA approved or not, fireproof or not).

I am not interested in used F1/Race/signed memorobilia and have been sent down that path many times. I have also tried contacting racewear manufacturerers directly such as Sparco, Puma, Sabelt etc to no avail, also tried the Ferrari store but again to no avail.

Seen them used by Corse Clienti customers on their track days out and in privateer GT and Lemans racing teams so they must be available outside the official Ferrari F1 team somewhere?

Events / Bathurst 12 Hour 2014 - Race Entry Opportunity

Hi guys

One of the organisers of the annual Bathurst 12 hour Race has recently called me about an opportunity to be part of one of the support races at Bathurst during the event to be held next year in February 2014.
 
He has forwarded me some details, including an event flyer, and basically this event is open to all Supercar and High Performance car owners who would like an opportunity to take their vehicle around the full Bathurst circuit unrestricted.

Your car doesn’t need to be track prepped in any way according to the organiser (i.e. no roll-cage required), but a basic CAMS L2S license is required (the organiser will assist entrants with obtaining this license) and this event will be televised along with the main Bathurst 12 hour event.
 
To register your entry, you must do so by 30th June 2013.

Events / Sydney German Autofest - Sun 24th March 2013

Hi All

For those of you whom may not be already aware, following the success of the inaugural Sydney German Autofest 2012 at Five Dock last year, the organisers are planning another one for 2013 which this time will hopefully be even bigger and better (last years turnout was fantastic with over 180+ cars in attendance, you can see the pics of that event on the 2012 post here: https://aussieexotics.com/forum/events/sydney-german-autofest-sun-19th-feb-2012-11124.0.html).

Events / [Syd] Formula Euro - Coffee and Cars meet Sat 20th October 2012

Hi All

I had an end of year cruise planned in October but with there being many concourse events in October, I have decided to push that back to November (more details of that event to come closer to the day), soooooo i thought in the interim I would organise a Coffee and Cars catch-up/meet on a Saturday morning.

I've sent the details out to those whom I have their mobile no.s by SMS, and for those whom I dont, details are below:

Meet: Don Campos Coffee, Alexandria (corner of Mcevoy St and Fountain St)

Date & Time: Saturday 20th October from 9.30 am on-wards

The cafe has a decent carpark just behind the place so no worry about street parking.

Events / Supercar D'Elegance Gathering/Concours - Sun 4th Nov 2012

The president of the Mercedes Benz Club NSW has extended an invitation to myself and to pass on to others for a Supercar Gathering/Concourse being held on Sunday 4th November 2012 at the Richmond Polo Club.

This is the second show that they will be running following the first successful one they held at Le Montage earlier this year.

Applicable entry to those who would like to display their vehicle/s is open to all Supercars and Classics.

There is also general admin for those who would just like to come along to see the show.

This is a proper organised event with official sponsorship from Polo Ralph Lauren amongst others, and there will also be official displays by Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini, McLaren, etc on the day as well as possible attendance by some local celebrities (as was the case at the last event held at Le Montage)

Events / Australian GT @ Eastern Creek this weekend

As some of you may already be aware, Round 4 of the Australian GT is on at Eastern Creek Raceway this weekend with all the major European marques competing in this exciting GT3 category of racing, including the likes of the Ferrari 458, Lamborghini Gallardo, Porsche 911 GT3, Mercedes SLS AMG, Audi R8 LMS, Lotus Elise, Mini and much more battling it out on the track.

The Shannon's Nationals is also on that same day, so there will also be the Porsche GT3 Cup, the Radical Australia Cup and Formula 3 on that day as well. Further details here: http://thenationals.com.au/index.php?page=rnd-1-eastern-creek

It's one event I try not to miss every year and was seeing if anyone else was keen to go to see the race this Sunday? Perhaps we could go as a group? 

Good excuse as any to catch up again, and for those with with partners/kids, its a great event to take them out for the day as well.

Following our last great meet up in April this year, and as per the Formula Euro calendar of events for the rest of the year I detailed in a previous post (see the 2012 Motorsport, club, shows, driving and social events post) i'm gathering interest for the next scheduled cruise, this time to Jenolan Caves, via Jenolan caves road for Sunday the 24th June 2012.
