On F chat(usa),it's about half and half as to whether it's a prank or fair-dinkum.

I can't talk for Greg, but I'm certainly retarded.

Who said anything about sight unseen??

I can vouch for both those statements.

I remember seeing the car early 80's at a QRC Rally, don't know if it would be the same car.

Oh,OK..not that car.

You saw a rear engined Abarth in Qld,THAT would have been something,I didn't know there were any genuine one's in OZ.

There are a few 124 Abarths in OZ,the engine is at the normal(for some)end.

Did you ever see the one that was rallied in Qld?

It had a worked Lancia Beta motor and gearbox plonked in the back.

If you're talking about the Bonfield's,that was an early(850,no Kamm tail)coupe body build-up,mainly by Norm Singleton.

Unfortunately he,Jack(a man of advanced age),drove so slowly in the 3 Targa Tassies he competed in,that he never achieved one Targa Trophy.
I had the misfortune to have caught him up........he doesn't use the rearview mirror.

Fiat 850 Coupe?

A cousin of mine had one way back, really revvy little thing -  a bundle of fun.

I think they were sold new here, so factory RHD.

I had a coupe, drove it from Brissy to Sydeney when I lost my license in qld.

The original 850's had an(amazingly)850cc engine, the 903 was put in and made it a little rocket,up to about 90 something miles an hour.
Mind you,Abarth REALLY made it thunder....they put in a full house 2 litre, twincam, twin Webers,5 speed,LSD....that thing would do over 150 MPH.

bit like a baby Fiat dino..I think the motor was in the front?

There are a few still around.
Pretty little thing with the 903cc engine out of the coupe,in the rear(water cooled).

There was a ripper one for sale in Noosa(I think),a couple of month's ago, went for about $10K,restored.

I think they were all converted over here.

Of course Phil, but if you want to broaden your potential buyer base, then you would,I'd have thought, used all the tools available.
Not everybody can jump on an aeroplane and go and have a look, there are enthusiasts who don't live nearby.
