he is the closest driver we have, or will have for a long time to get close in winning a championship.

maybe, but there's others too

most notably young Ricciardo from Perth... almost there already...

Ryan Briscoe would be better IMO, given another chance

Or Will Power

or Will Davison could have done ok.

When the PHR team owner took delivery of the 1997 ex Schuey F1 car, Mark Noske test drove it at Fiorano. It was a "customer" spec car that was 4 years old at the time on old tyres... yet the current car test team actually stopped running the new car for a while to watch him drive, and even came to make comment on what a good job he was doing.

I used to support my home country and was a Verstappen fan. He didn't get too much out of Formula 1 apart from the ability to guess which country he was in from the gravel...

nope, Schuey all the way for me. Kimi was ace too, he'll be back one day too  :tilt:

James Hunt is/was the best british driver IMO.

Webber has simply not shone brightly enough, and back when he was a Formula Holden driver, he was very beatable. I've worked with drivers that beat him back then.

And I met Webber at a launch ceremony back in 2001?.. he wasn't as sociable and friendly as the other drivers, when considering he's an aussie, and it was in Australia, you'd think he might have been more "marketable".

Also, I don't think he would have made it to where he has if it was based ONLY on driving talent. His contacts have given him more open doors than his talent.. IMO...

He has improved immensly in the last ~5 years and IS a great driver... but there are better drivers that didn't make it.

 Each to there own

the two Will's proved that they could not handle the pressure in the A1 GP/Indy car, F1 is a little more intense.

Kimmi and Alonso were 2 of the last "Rock Star" F1 drivers, most of them now are all daddy's boys
