I like Tander but not Skaife.

I hope Lowndes can do it again.

But mostly, I hope it's just as entertaining as always.... amazing atmosphere that place.... uniquie I think.

Bairdo is supreme.... Did 2.12's in car 1 to "shake it down", then he's driving car 2 with Seto... 2.12 might be 5 sec off the pace but I challenge anyone to drive that fast that carefully!

for HRT to trust Bairdo to do that shows massive confidence, and rightly so. Bairdo is a legend in my mind, watched him race Brit Touring cars against Mansell etc, and having worked with him and know him... mega bloke.

But I don't think Seto is up to it for them to have a good run.

He's a Kiwi, did you think he'd be anything less than supreme.

Just saw on tele, that there has been a big crash in practice. Paul Weel was stationary on the track and got hit by someone coming around the corner. A little like the Mark Porter incident. Hopefully he's alright.

The Dick Johnson team seem to be going very well in the times with both cars at the pointy end of the field.

V8 driver expected to be OK after crash
AAP - October 10, 2008, 11:35 am

V8 Supercar driver Paul Weel is expected to be cleared of any serious injury following a heavy accident during practice at the Bathurst 1000 Friday.

Weel, 29, had to be extracted from his PWR Holden after a collision with Team Kiwi Racing driver Chris Pither.

Pither walked away, while Weel is experiencing some lower back pain and has been airlifted to Nepean Hospital as a precaution.

Pither and Weel will take no further part in the weekend though, with both cars suffering extreme damage.

The accident occurred near the McPhillamy Park area of the circuit, when Weel made contact with a safety barrier and slid sideways onto the track and Pither slammed into the driver's side door.

Ford's Jamie Whincup and Craig Lowndes clocked the fastest time in the session ahead of Friday afternoon's qualifying.

The pair were also fastest in Thursday's session and remain on track to complete an historic hat-trick of Bathurst titles.

Stone Brothers Racing's James Courtney and David Besnard were second fastest, followed by all-Kiwi Holden pair Jason Richards and Greg Murphy.
