Another great day at Eastern Creek was had by all.   :)

But not long after I got there I was asked to stand in for the official track photographer that couldn't make it.  So I was torn between camera and car...  oh what a dilemma.   ;)

Anyways, the results are more "lifestyle" shots rather than the usual "just another car zooming past" stuff.

Where do you find out about these drive days and the like?

Are they open to the public to come and watch etc or are they more private events?

Ash has posted the link up - but in short - about $500 for the day - you get laps of the track and access to pro drivers. Note there are 3 groups (so beginners, intermediate, advanced) and you'll likely get about 4-5 runs of 20 minutes (which is usually enough for about 6 laps a time). It's not a raceday, it's sold as an 'advanced driving day' so no timing devices, or overtaking without consent allowed. Good fun, and lots of interesting people and cars always there. You can request an invite via the Oniell site.
C'mon, do it!

What about if you just want to watch?

I know the majority of trackdays/supersprints i compete in there is usually no one at the gate so if the public want to watch they can come in and watch, as long as they stay out of the way etc.

No it's invite only - guests included.  If your name isn't on the gate, you don't get in.

Nope, there are separate bike days - the dukes were just there for the drool factor (soooo pretty).
