Cool, I'm allocating some time to work on my car, not been out since last year Willunga Hillclimb and I've got some new parts to fit. Hmmm Brembo's

The motor finally done, did really well at the AMF, its never been stronger and the power is substantial to what it was. The photo is of the piston, whoever put the engine together prior to owning it clearly had no idea on how to fit pistons. The rings were not offset... and somehow with planetary alignment all the gaps of the piston ring met at the same point and that clear passage amounted to the a burnt out piston. I'd be guessing who did the last job but in giving the current rebuild to Team BRM they did correctly.
the total parts bill for a F430GT3 came to $4500.00, add about 25 hours labour all up it came to just a tad over 6k. That also included new valves damaged by the piston, full VRS set, getting both heads done, new valve seats.
All the parts came exclusively from maserati (same engine as a road QP), the only ferrari item was the oil filter. Says something about parts bin sharing and after all the crap I was told how bespoke the engine is....wtf.

memo 101...if you need to rebuild a Ferrari engine, shop around and cross reference with maserati, don't be fooled into thinking by some so called ferrari expert that you need to use ferrari parts. Remember the car/s are designed by a rocket scientist and put together by a bloke who probably cant read or write.....so in essence its mechanical and can be done by someone with competence.

hi goober, nice write-up and good to hear from you.

roger, since Tim and I went out to mallala for a state round it hasn't done too much, Aaron was fantastic, so glad Justin sent him over from NZ to show us and Team BRM how to use and operate the car. The amount of time and effort Justin, Ange and Aaron have put into after sales advice and service is second to none. We got jack shit from MM with the 360 and less from that other idiot with the 430.

In comparison to the 430.....there is no comparison, its an amazing car, should have taken it to the AMF yesterday. We are trying to slot in some dates pre Clipsal (if we get in)

Must thank you for convincing me on the merits of it the lambo being more German than Italian....good advice and just love the car.
