My only experience going fast at PI was being driven around by Luke Youlden in a new GTR.

He was going as fast as it would go and we hit 261 before he braked.

A 458 must be a lot faster to go 40kph more!

What tyres, and he braked early, it's his duty as a professional driver with passenger.

Ok, I'd still rather be considered easy to bait and weak, rather than wrong.

Aaron, and Pless are wrong. A 458 has done 300km/h.

Lap time is meaningless, due to slick tyres etc etc.

It's only top speed on the straight that's under doubt.

I reckon a 458 would exit the corner onto the straight slower than the F40LM on slicks and with aero, but according to you, despite 200hp less and 400kg more, the speed down the straight is the same.

Dunno. ... that logic just seems flawed.

I think this needs more studying.

Omg

How much later would he have to brake to do an extra 40 kph?

You're just making no sense to me.

40kph doesn't sound like much normally, but in this instance even 10kph is HUGE!

What gearing in the F40 lm ?
You don't know.... Very very few, if any, race cars are geared to go more than 280km/h unless actually at LeMans .

For general track use, especially a primitive 5 speeder, 280 ish would be max.

With the right tyres, he would start from a higher speed.

And you know it.

Standard tyres, but on a GTR they are virtually R's.

He was aiming to beat Suzuki san's time (with passenger) so wasn't hanging about.
Why such a long face?

So, 1800kg? Road tyres?

Yep, yep.

I know they are as fast as a Scud in a straight line.  ;)
