Not quite racing. But I have never looked into this so am out if my league.

I am looking at getting a set of light weight track rims and Tyres.

Should I be looking at 18 inch like the road Tyres 225/40/18
Or should I be looking at 17 inch

I would be getting a slightly narrower tyre than my road Tyres so to avoid scraping.
So 215 would be the width of the tyre.

Also my road rims are 8 inch wide should I get that width or 7 1/2 inch wide??


Also should I just bypass the rspec and go to slicks or is there not much difference for the head ache in having to change rims at the track???

What tyre sizes do you have now?

But there is a very slight scrape on the track but not the road.

That's why I want to go to a 215 width but unsure of side wall / rim size

Yes I know your theory but I don't have the time or the urge for the effort for a dedicated track car.

I also have this and really like it. I just want to drive it legally and have some fun on the odd track day.

Forget slicks then.

There's a gazillion coil over kits, choose one, and rims have been done to death too.

Try to find a recommendation from a fellow owner.

Keep it simple, don't try to do your own development, it'll cost three times as much, take 4 times as long, and Bugger the car along the way.

That's actually really good advice.
