Allan quoted this line from the film Le Mans a lot....

He had an uncanny ability for prophecy...

Very sad news indeed. RIP.

As Futurism said; the commentators indicated that Allan was conscious and talking to the doctors which makes the news all the more shocking.

I'm very shocked to see this this morning!!  I'm one of the lucky ones to have met Allan, such a down to earth guy.  I have in car video of you driving my car at Winton teaching me how to drive which I will always treasure and remember.

R.I.P.

I wasnt sure if posting that youtube was ok

it would appear as though he got on the paint, had no grip, opposite lock to catch it, but then the paint ran out and he got a massive amount of grip suddenly?

I was chatting to someone just now who said its the equivalent of a 'high side' on a bike

such sad news, his youth makes it even sadder.  So much life missed out on.

bear in mind bikes only have 2 wheels, I wonder if something broke as those massive bits of sticky rubber should have held his course on a dry track.

A dreadful day for his young family and friends.

My everlasting memory of him is back in about 2003 he pulled up beside me around Alexandra avenue in a Ford FPV thing.  We exchanged a wave and he spun up the back tyres around the right hander into Williams Road.  It was extememly funny to watch this large sedan snaking all over the road in the wet.  I rememeber Joey from Maranello Motorsport along with Mark Peebles (Also no longer with us) was also in the car, Phil, I think you might have been there too?

He used to come to Phil's workshop when ever he was in Melbourne and his sense of humour was always evident (Especially when hanging a bit of shit on Phil).  A genuinely good fellow.

I suppose the only comfort is that he didn't end up as a "Head in a bed" a scenario one cannot imagine him tolerating.
