That's fair enough.  I think the insurance for a supercar at the 'Ring would be more than the $14K

True - I wonder how much fun you'd have punting a supercar around on an unknown circuit when your wallet is pulsating with fear.

Yeah, and with your instructor saying "You can take this one flat out!"

As there's twice as many punters as cars, I figure you end up spending half your time in a passenger's seat.  Is this right?  If so, end of interest for me.  I'd only be interested if I was driving every single km of the trip.  Anyone got any further thoughts on the whole thing?

with that many kms to travel I think having a 2nd driver/car is a good thing. I know I wouldn't mind paxing but it depends on the driver. the choices for ring cars are reasonable, I would be happy to stick with the 135i  :mischief:

dunno whether i would do this at this stage in my life though....

Airfares ADL-LONDON - $6000 (business)
Accomodation - $3500
Food/Drinks - $1500
Misc - $2000
Trip Package - $14500

Total cost - $27,500

Numbers look about right.  Airfares on FF points perhaps?

FFP would definitely be used. Either upgrade from econ to business, or business to first (best value IMHO). Using FFP to cover the whole airfare is not good value IIRC.

you thinking of doing this, this year? if you'd rather have a co-driver that you know then I could try and do it next year. I was thinking about this today, but I doubt I can bring my UK trip (currently Aug 08) forward to do it this year...

if the family has to come along, just leave them in London whilst we go driving!  :mischief:

I ran it past the boss.  She made the same suggestion as you!

Yes, 2009 is more realistic for me too due to busy travel schedule already for 2008.  Let's think on it.
