What's special about a delete button?  Most forums I'm on allow users to delete their own posts.

Exactly! How weird.

I love my car. Buy your own

It's the way the forum was setup originally. General members are very restricted in what they can do.

Carbon members should have a lot more freedom but the rules for General members override those rules.

For some reason The Lap of Tassie rules override the general Members rules........er, still following?????

If I change around the rules it could cause all sorts of problems so I have to look at why the Lappers works and not Carbon.

I thing I need to be 3/4 cut to do it though........   :D

Give me access to Tassie, I'll do it one day anyway and I get the delete button.

Back when I was Semi-Benevolent Dictator I never had Mods to be concerned with, I suspect I modified the code to remove the button itself altogether.

My personal policy: you can't un-say something (oh fuck I wish...)

How that translates to AE:

- I provided a 3 or 5 minute window (I think) to modify your post without it being noted as modified - for typos etc

- you can modify your post up to one hour later

- after an hour the post is on the internet forever. That's fucking it baby.

So back to the point....

It's more than likely the delete button doesn't exist because AE is probably 25% Ash modified.

FWIW I reckon AE should be upgraded to latest version (which will break it) or ported to a more commercial system.

Point is, AE is running on forum software that was awesome in 2010 and which I personally improved to legendary status, but it really needs an overhaul.
