If you post defamatory content or injurious falsehoods
not a problem, if its the truth they cant do anything to you, just tell the truth.

If youre stupid enough to get carried away with slandering people.. if youre telling the truth and have proof they know they will lose and it will cost them for your court costs.

Happens on here all the time and even if you are telling the truth the costs can run into the hundreds of thousands plus the stress, you really dont want to know, yes you MIGHT gets costs IF you win but that doesnt really help much while it's all going on.
In reality very few take it that far it's more likely to be larger companies who suffer loss as a result.
In the case of ff a number of his clients no doubt read this forum and what was said might have put doubt in peoples minds, it was extremely nasty, that's the sort of thing that could be acted upon.

In the end even the truth with evidence doesnt always mean you will win.

Judges arent always particularly honest or decent people.

Vexatious litigation is the term. The Yanks have turned it into an art form where extremely wealthy individuals use legal action to teach the other party a lesson, regardless of merit.

............and I've been telling Phil for years to watch what he says. Doesn't matter if he is wrong or right.

You never get your full legal costs back, it's a fact of life unfortunately.

I recall a particularly nasty attack on ff both personal and professional , a very nasty attack which could have been acted upon.

As a former moderator on FChat I can tell you that Philly gives at least as much as he cops.

I typed out a long detailed response to this about being my own isp, not keeping logs, having hundreds of users I don't even know who pay me nothing using my servers and what my response to various copyright, legal threats and take down notices has been

But I thought better of it

If you are doing anything suspicious/questionable from you local connection, you're doing it wrong
