Copy the URL of the YouTube clip you wish to embed in a message - yes the same link you would just paste as per normal to send someone to that page.

Click the YouTube button - far left just above the smileys -  Image - or use BBCode (Bulletin-Board Code) format as in:
Code: [Select]
[youtube]youtube-code[/youtube]
Paste your YouTube URL inside the YouTube tags, it should look something like this:

Code: [Select]
[youtube]TVyx2YDyYkM[/youtube]
And the end result will be something like this:

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TVyx2YDyYkM" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TVyx2YDyYkM</a>

Let me know if you need any further help.

Ash (or any puter savvy person)... help!

So, I can watch embedded youtube clips no problem...

but lately (6 or 7 days), if I try to watch a youtube (or some other) video from a link or direct from the site, it says "you either have javascript turned off or an old version of flash player"

So I click the "get new flash player" and follow it through... and it seems to just "dead end"... no final "done it" happens... I restart etc, nothing.

I've not chnaged my flash player at all... so I guess maybe my javascript is turned off....?

HTF do I find out?

I doubt your javascript is turned off - if you can click the "quick reply" button and the text area expands then you have JS enabled.

What browser you using?  IE7?  Wait... I can probly find out from my end... :p

It might just be that you need the latest flash, go to - http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=shockwaveFlash and try that.  I'm running an old version of Flash here at work, but I don't have access to youtube to test it.

However I get the same problem on the new Lotus site: http://www.facelesspeople.com - it just tells me to download the latest Flash.
