OK, surfing on S4 mini, no issues.

It's the latest trend in banner ads - use JavaScript to detect the platform you're browsing on, then request a URL that opens a link on that device's App Store.

I've seen it here a few times but also on some other sites I use regularly.

Doesn't seem like there's much that can be done to stop it from happening as the URL handler that opens the App Store app is part of the iOS / Android environment and can't be disabled.

It seems to happen a lot more on Apple products by what I have seen in the last 15 minutes.

Most likely related to the fact that the ads need an app to redirect you to on the paid App Store. There are more shitty free-to-play apps on iOS than Android, so the problem is worse on iOS as a result.

Ok - it appears that every time the Google Play Ad shows up at the bottom of the page is when it happens.

I have loaded Adblock plus on my HTC and it seems to be working https://adblockplus.org/en/android-install

I have not fully checked ABP out 100% so only try it if you are happy to do so.

Loaded the trial version of Adblocker on the iPad. Been using it all night and haven't had any issues......
