ok found a minor issue.  when posting a reply it takes you back to the first post in the thread.  not a deal-breaker but will try and figger out why...

actually i haven't done any coding on the site for a couple months... until yesterday!  so yeah i'll take another look cos it still bugs the crap out of me.

not really sure how you could help as it's all because i've modded everything so much unless you can read htaccess stuff like a second language as that's where i suspect the problem lies, i just fumble my way through that stuff.

it is... well, it *was*  i changed a bunch of stuff to get it working how i wanted, final issue is just the return to start of thread thing because it decodes the post wrong. (have a look at the end of the URL when you post something, it's in the wrong order)

others have had the issue but as is standard on the internet you can find the questions that people post however the responses are always from people who either have no idea and are just guessing or from people telling them to do something different and completely useless advice.

i haven't looked for a couple months so i'll see if there's a simple fix...

actually i just had a play and all i have to do is get it to append ";msg666666666#new" instead of just "#new" and it will go to the end of the thread.

the msg part is of course referring to the message just posted, however for some reason that seems to get lost with the setup i'm running so just using a message number beyond the largest message number in the forum works fine.
