does the random image loader favour new images? because the callendar shoot you did seems to show up every 2nd refresh....
or is it because..... it takes random images evenly from each gallery, some galleries are big and random, and some are small and all of one car, and hence i would notice those ones reoccuring more often...

or am i overthinking it....

What was the subject?  I'm pretty sure it was like 3 consecutive photos, which out of 15k+ was going to be uber-rare.

No, must be viewer bias.

The way it works is simply that it counts the total number of pics in the gallery and picks a random number between zero and the highest number - that's why there's the occasional error for images that don't exist or were posted too small.

Yes.  You're overthinking it like a girl.  No single image has any greater chance that any other in the "poker zone". 

Images that are tagged "wallpaper" get loads more exposure around the rest of the site.
