From the moment that he couldnt control the simple spin to get the car straight at the start you could tell it was too much car and not enough driver. The organisers have to take the brunt of the blame. Didn't they see the Australian funny car driver kill people in the crowd doing something similar in the US a year or two back?

Hard to shift blame there, there's maybe 15 seconds between when he starts his burnout/spin antics to arriving at the scene of the accident. I haven't watched any other "competitor" vids so dunno if this was standard, but really doubt they said it's ok to go ahead and do a 180 (well, 240 in his case) at the start line.

Aside from the whole crashing into spectators thing, the Koenigsegg driver was behaved in comparison to the rest of the participants.

On top of that, the official website describes this event by saying "Imagine driving your Ferrari at full speed on a closed 3.2 kilometer circuit in the middle of a city, when some 60 000 people are watching. It is an incredible experience."

So basically not only was this sort of driving acceptable, it was expected.

It's Europe, with their supercar events these things are still common with a surprisingly low incident rate. I saw this pretty much all the time throughout spring and summer.

Not sure about Poland, but the last supercar event I went to in Veldensee Austria had a disclaimer as you entered the town basically telling people to keep their eyes and ears open incase a car gets out of control.

Do we really have to be told  to use commonsense?   EG: cars spinning around at high speed.... who the fuck stands right next to the road?

You can say I'm wrong, but my garage doesn't agree with that statement!!!

The safety standards are pretty poor.  If thats the kind of driving behaviour that they are accustomed to at such events the organisers have a lot to answer to for the disregard to observer safety.

That will change soon once the law suits start rolling in.

The town with the disclaimer...

In Oz a disclaimer doesn't absolve the organiser from legal culpability AFAIK.
Europe has always been a little carefree with regard to spectator safety.
