We have some exciting news, the Australian Rally Championship has agreed to host a festival of speed for Australia’s forums. They recognise that your community plays a big part in this countries motoring culture and would like to open an annual event to showcase the scene and its communities to a bigger audience, this includes TV coverage on Channel 10, print and digital exposer.

The event is made up of 4 motorsport disciplines and a show and shine. There's $20k's worth of prizes up for grabs and the recognition for your clubs individual members who perform well at their chosen discipline.

All the events are held in Calder Victoria March 3rd 2012

So people would need to plan and know that they could make it to the event.

Maybe work out the kinds of cars on the forum that could win or do very well in each event and see if people want to enter on behalf of Aussie Exotics... add any cars that are typical of this forum that you think would do well in a category

And if you're interested in entering as part of the Aussie Exotics team copy the list of categories so it stays together and add your name underneath.

We would need to find out the exact rules for each category from G2S like what classes there will be in the motoring events and what judging rules there are for the Show & Shine... Some show judging sheets add massive points for modifications so a concourse car could do well but  never win top car of show. Lets see if we can come up with enough people interested early on to see if its worth entering as a team.

the events are

Tarmac Rally Normally a tighter smaller course than a regular race track.... smaller cars like rally cars possibly a Lotus Elise or Exige could do well, maybe Porsche 911-944.

Time Attack is held on a regular race track
Porsche 911, Lamborghini Gallardo or Ferrari 458

Gymkhana, tight course with gates using forward and reverse gears.
Lotus Elise

Drags 1/4 mile drag race, normally held with classes
458 or Ultima GTR could win a normally aspirated class

Show & Shine
Open to any kind of car in show condition.

458 or Ultima GTR could win a normally aspirated class
Mhh - 458, Scud - SV, Allan - Ultima, Horse - GTR35

Show & Shine
Open to any kind of car in show condition.
We need EXOTIC looks as well as show condition, to guarantee wins.
My S4s, Scud 458 - SV - SL, Mhh 458, Richie SL, and a ton more

Ash, here's your chance to act like a leader, get all this organised, as AE has an almost guaranteed chance to win all this. And you will give AE international coverage on TV over and over through WRC. It's a cash cow.

Ha - ok, I was only sort of skimming this topic before, I'll take a better look at it late tonight and get my head around what's going on.
