Did you ever own an E46 M3?  That was the last M car I owned as I didn't think the E9X looked aggressive enough and when I drove it, it had lost its youthful feel in the drive of the E46 which I adored, the E9X just felt to sanitised and grown up with the sense of occasion gone.  I prefer the E90 M3 now and might own one for the money they are starting to depreciate down to, but overall I think the best days of M haven't been rekindled for a while.

What do you think of the m2?  Suppose to be a cracker of a car

Agree that for $50-55k the e92 m3 is ripper car

I haven't driven one, but the initial appeal for me isn't there.  So I am not in a position to comment.

No I never did, was close but held out for the e92, did own two e46 coupes though, a 320Ci manual and a 325Ci manual.

Like others mentioned, the M2 or CSL whatever with the S55 engine from the F82 maybe the car to own. For me I wanted some individual stuff, more tech and the 2 just doesn't offer it. Lastly, I'm not paying rrp or close to it for a non limited car like the M2, maybe in a year or so they will be a better buy once the initial rush is over, as per RS3s.

Also, if you are looking at an M2 from a performance perspective (0-100 etc) don't discount the new M240, a quick little car in its own right.

Not a pic but post worthy I think, love the screaming V8 and the drifting.

Good to see it still getting around.  That one was originally supplied on 19" double spokes.
