Hi,
A friend of mine has an imported Bentley & Range Rover from the UK which they are trying to sell, so far without much luck.

I haven't got details of the exact models, however I wondered if anyone could provide any assistance on where they could go to sell these cars, are there any collectors or specialist dealers that would potentially buy these cars?

Any assistance is appreciated.

You'll need to supply some details before anyone can help. Minimum would be the year and model of each car and what your friend is asking.

Where has he advertised to date? Carpoint.com.au, carsales.com.au, drive.com.au???

General rule of thumb: If their not selling then he's asking too much.

Hi Waz356, Thanks for the reply. I will try and get more details tonight when I get home.

I believe the Rover is 90's and the Bentley is quite old, supposedly work $60k

So there is a market for this type of car in Aus?

Or they may not be ready to be registered in AUS if not complianced (depending on age) etc, or they are infested with UK spec rust, which I guess also gets back to asking too much.

Hi Sifi,
I know the Rover has been registered but it's been let lapse, it also has had/does have a problem with the Hydraulic suspension (does that help narrow the year?).
The Bentley hasn't been registered in Aus and I'm not sure about rust.
Cheers

If the cars don't have the Oz compliance plates fitted then the cars will lose a lot of their 'value'.

Rust also is a killer with regards to imported UK cars.  I remember looking at 12 month old cars at dealerships in London and was horrified to see how much corrosion had taken hold in such a short time.  Well driven cars generally will only last a good 10 years before they become scrap.  That's why car prices in the UK are so cheap.

So basically don't drive it on a salted road and keep it indoors? and only drive it when the sun is out... sigh
